Agnes Marie Dangerfield Tolliver

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." Il Timothy 4:7-8

Agnes Marie Dangerfield was born on April 2, 1942, in Woodville, Mississippi, to the late Jake and Alberta Simpson Dangerfield. On Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., God dispatched an angel from Heaven to beckon His beloved servant home from labor to reward.

Sister Agnes Marie departed her earthly life at Wilkinson County Senior Care in Centreville, Mississippi. She confessed Christ at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Richard Palmer. Later, she moved her membership to St. Mark Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J.E Rucker, where she served faithfully until her health began to decline under the leadership of Dr. Rev Reginald Jackson.

Agnes was a proud graduate of the Wilkinson County Training School, Class of 1961. She lived a life full of joy, laughter, and love, and was truly the life of the party. She was employed at the Local Labor Union 1177 and Riverbend Nuclear Plant for many years and later devoted her life to raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On November 21, 1961, Agnes was united in holy matrimony to Earnest Tolliver.

Together, they shared nearly 61 years of marital bliss.

To know Agnes was to love her, and she will be deeply missed. She was fun, full of wisdom, and always ready to share a laugh. Her sense of humor could brighten the darkest day, and her words of wisdom guided those she loved. Agnes carried herself with grace and strength, leaving behind lessons of faith, joy, and resilience. She leaves to cherish her sweet memories: her loving and devoted husband, Earnest Tolliver; three daughters, Velvetta Porter and Earnestine Jackson of Woodville, MS, and Yolanda (Kelvin) Robinson of Ethel, LA; one son, Kelvin (Joyce) Tolliver of Jackson, LA; three adopted children, Ernest (Lakeisha) Tolliver of Woodville, MS, Breanna Tolliver and Makynzie Tolliver of Zachary, LA; and one stepdaughter, Joyce Williams of Woodville, MS. She also lovingly reared Patrick (Vernassa) Smith of Woodville, MS, and Amber Washington of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Everlean (Richard) Jolla of New Orleans, LA; a son-in-law, Willie Synder; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jake and Alberta Dangerfield; five siblings, Jessie Mae King, Annie Mae King, Walter Dangerfield, Margaret Smith, and Charles Dangerfield; one daughter, D'angelious Tolliver Synder; one grandson, Cory Hawkins; and one son-in-law, Larry Jackson.
