Byron "Tud" Ferguson was born on January 14, 1957, in Woodville, Mississippi, to the late Henry Ferguson, Sr. and Ruthie Ferguson. He was the fourth of eight children. Byron attended Wilkinson County Training School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at St. Matthew Baptist Church. 

Known for his fun-loving spirit, generous heart, and willingness to help anyone in need, Byron touched the lives of many with his warm smile, kind nature, and genuine love for others.

On Friday, July 4, 2026, at 6:45 a.m., Byron peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal rest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruthie Ferguson, Sr.; one sister; one brother; one niece; and one great-niece

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Linda Ferguson, whose devoted care and unwavering love meant so much to him, Cynthia Ferguson, Audrey (Ernest) Brown, Zina Ferguson, and Lisa Ferguson; his brother, Henry (Mary) Ferguson, Jr.; a devoted nephew, Damon Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
