Carlos Ladalle Johnson

Obituary

At 12:01 a.m. on March 18, 1980, Carlos Johnson was born to Jimmy and Doris Johnson at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

At an early age, Carlos accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of the late Pastor Allen Scott at Kingsford Baptist Church. There, he faithfully worshipped and joyfully served as a member of the church choir.

Carlos was a proud graduate of Wilkinson County High School, Class of 1998. Following graduation, he attended Nashville Auto Diesel College, where he pursued his passion for the trucking industry. He began his career as a log truck driver, a profession he truly enjoyed, until declining health made it impossible for him to continue. He also dedicated several years of service as a Correctional Officer at the Louisiana State Penitentiary.

Carlos had a heart for good food, family, and fellowship. One of his greatest joys was boiling crawfish and, of course, eating just as many as he cooked. He was known for his love of chitterlings, his delicious homemade crawfish etouffee, Falisha's famous chocolate cake, and nothing could compare to his mother's homemade macaroni and cheese. These simple pleasures brought him happiness and created lasting memories with those he loved.

Carlos leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife, Lanico Johnson; his loving mother, Doris Henyard; his beloved son, Okatavion Myles; his mother-in-law, La Verne Myles; four sisters, Jana (Tavares) Smith of Zachary, Louisiana, Carla Weber of Humble, Texas, Sherhonda Johnson and Tammera} Hill, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven brothers, Antoine (LaKedra) Johnson of Clinton, Louisiana, Termaine (LaKasha) Johnson, George (Stephanie) Johnson, Jimmy (Julia) Johnson, Darryl (Debra) Johnson, Jacob (Monique) Smith, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Aaron (Whitney) Johnson of Houston, Texas; five aunts, Minnie Harden and Louvenia (Robert) Bell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Geneive Bullock, Mary Ann Johnson, and Jane Thompson; four uncles, Alvin (Georgia) Benyard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Gene McDonald of Natchez, Mississippi, James Moses of Zachary, Louisiana, and Alex Moses of Wilson, Louisiana; four special relatives, Falisha McDonald, Celli McDonald, Jerome Hayes, and Fred Poole; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and cherished friends whose lives were forever touched by his presence.

Carlos was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Minnie and Edward Henyard; his paternal grandparents; several beloved aunts and uncles; and other relatives and dear friends who welcomed him into eternal rest.

Carlos will be remembered for his warm spirit, infectious smile, love for his family, and the joy he found in bringing people together. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
