Dr. Cashoney Chandae Carter was born on September 9, 1982, to Nancy Jackson and Allen C. Carter in Natchez, Mississippi. Cashoney was a loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was quiet, passionate, and always stood firm in her beliefs. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Jackson, and her grandmother, Winnie Jackson.
Cashoney accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Fayette, Mississippi. She attended school in Jefferson County and was the proud salutatorian of Jefferson County High School Class of 2000. Continued her education until she received her Doctorate in Education from Liberty University in 2024. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Professionally, Cashoney served her community through education. She worked at Jefferson County Middle School starting in 2008. She became the assistant principal at the Jefferson County High School in 2023.
One of the greatest joys of her life was her daughter, Harley Varner, who was the light of her world. Cashoney deeply cherished time with her siblings, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and many family members and friends who loved her dearly.
On June 26, 2025, God gently called Cashoney home and welcomed her into eternal rest. Surrounded by love, she transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home.
Cashoney leaves to cherish her memory one beloved daughter, Harley Varner of Fayette, MS; her father, Allen Carter (Jerry) of Fayette, MS; Godmother, Barbara Tenner of Fayette, MS; three brothers: Jeffery Carter, Corolus Carter Sr. and Ikeheem Colenberg of Fayette, MS; four sisters: Le Tasha Carter, Albany Tenner, Ikeecia Colenburg all of Fayette, MS, and Ebony Tenner of Fort Worth, TX; her aunts: Betty Stampley, Lenoria Wright, Willie Mae Stampley, Katie Colenberg all of Fayette, MS and Glenda Stampley of Columbia, TN, Julia Carter, Angela Carter of Natchez, MS, and Vivian Carter of Racine, Wisconsin; her uncles:, Roosevelt Carter, Freddie Carter, Percy Johnson all of Fayette, MS; and Micheal Carter, Vincent Carter of Natchez, MS nephews: Corolous Jr., Akheim, Jy'Heim, Princeton Carter and Keltra Smith Jr.; nieces: Catelyn, Brielle, Madison, Megan, Rayne Carter and Kayleigh Smith; Godchildren: Jamaliette ,Abigail Combs and Kaci Claiborne; her best friend of 35 years, Ranarda Squire of Fort Worth. TX. She also leaves behind dear friends.
