A Time to Be Born:
Deacon Earnest L. Jones was born on March 19, 1935, to the late Tom Jones, Sr and Millie Turner Jones in Woodville, MS. 

A Time to Live:
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior under the leadership of Rev. Harrison Dupree at Millbrook Baptist Church in Fort Adams, Mississippi. Following the rebuilding of the church, it became known as Rose Hill Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful and dedicated member through the leadership of several pastors. At the time of his passing, he faithfully served as a deacon under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Ernest Ford, Jr. He was also a devoted choir member who loved singing praises to the Lord and faithfully taught Sunday School from a young age until the COVID-19 pandemic. Earnest enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and spending time with his horses. He was employed by Georgia-Pacific for many years, where he served as a supervisor. 

A Time to Depart:
Deacon Jones is preceded in death by his parents, Tom Jones, Sr. and Millie Turner Jones, his first wife Shirley M. Jones, second wife Bonnie Faye Jones; brothers Tom Jones, Jr. and Willard Jones; three sisters, Lucille Tuesno, Rose Jones, and Zerlee Johnson. On Sunday, July 5, 2026, Earnest entered into eternal rest. He leaves behind broken hearts to cherish his memories: two daughters, Earnestine (Leroy) Gray, Baker, Louisiana, Rose Jones, Woodville, Mississippi, five sons, Edward Lee (Jackie) Jones, Baker, Louisiana, Richard (Yolanda Harris) Jones, Woodville, Mississippi, Kenneth (Angela) Jones, Baker, Louisiana, Quinton Jones, Woodville, Mississippi and Brandon (Latoya) Jones, Walker, Louisiana; two sisters Audrey Holmes and Lillian Lawson; three nieces, one great niece, three nephews, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, Paw-Paw little nurse, Mia-Christina Jones. Special friend, Sylvester VanNorman and a host of other relatives and friends.
