Ellis "Wooda" Robinson III

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV).

Ellis Robinson III, affectionately known to family and friends as “Wooda,” was born on November 24, 1995, to the proud parents Darlene Richburg and Ellis Robinson, Jr. in New Orleans, Louisiana. From the moment he entered this world, Wooda brought joy, laughter, and a sense of warmth that touched everyone around him.

He was raised in a loving home and received his education in the Amite County School District, proudly graduating from Amite County High School in 2015. During his school years, Wooda built lifelong friendships and developed a strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.

On July 5, 2020, Wooda was united in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Kendria Jones Robinson, a love story that began in their teenage years and blossomed into a beautiful union. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and dedication to one another. From this blessed union, two precious children were born: Ashton Elise Robinson and Kaisley Elise Robinson. Wooda was a devoted and protective father, always working hard to provide for his family. His daughter, Kaisley, affectionately called “Kay” by her daddy, was truly the apple of his eye.

Wooda had a calm and quiet spirit. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing video games and spending quality time with his family, especially those cherished moments with his little girl, Kaisley. Known for his soft-spoken nature and kind heart, he had a way of making others feel valued and loved without ever needing many words.

Professionally, Wooda was employed as an operator at Nalco, where he worked diligently for numerous years. His dedication and strong work ethic were admired by his co-workers and supervisors alike.

On September 13, 2025, Wooda peacefully answered God’s call and entered into eternal rest.

Wooda was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ashton Elise Robinson; his paternal grandfather, Ellis Robinson, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, William Richburg, Sr. and Anna M. Richburg; four uncles, William Richburg, Jr., Michael Richburg, Whalen Richburg, Terry Ross; and his grandmother-in-law, Drucilla Hollins.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory: his devoted and loving wife Kendria Jones Robinson; his cherished daughter, Kaisley Elise Robinson, who brought him immeasurable joy; mother Darlene Richburg-Batiste (Louis); father Ellis Robinson Jr. (Altonia); two brothers: Marvin Richburg and Dakota Robinson; paternal grandmother Mayolla Robinson; mother in-law Barnetter Hollins; father in-law Kenny Jones (Tonya); aunts: Talaka Robinson, Betty Ann Richburg, and Causetta Richburg; uncles: Kenneth Robinson Sr. (Quanta), Ronald Richburg, Elder Gregory Ross, and Pastor Brian K. Richburg (Callie); cousins who were reared as his siblings: Terrell Robinson, Taniya Ellis, Kenneth Robinson, Jr., and Kiara Robinson; sister in-law Aniya Hollins; brothers in-law: Travion Jones, Kenny Jones, Jr., and Kentravien Jones; a host of other relatives, co-workers, classmates, and friends.

Additionally, he will be lovingly remembered by a host of other relatives, co-workers, classmates, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.

Wooda’s life was a testament to quiet strength, devotion, and love for his family. Though his time on earth was far too short, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
