Elton Lewis Jr., affectionately known as “EJ,” age 19, of Vidalia, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2026.
Ej was born on March 5, 2007, in Natchez, Mississippi, to Latasha Moore Martin and Elton Lewis Sr. He was raised in Vidalia, Louisiana, where he attended school in Concordia Parish. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), where he completed one semester while pursuing a degree in Business Management.
Ej loved fishing and watching sports. Elton leaves to cherish his memory: His devoted Father Elton Lewis Sr., his loving mother Latasha (Willie) Martin, His siblings Elmari Lewis, Demarco Brown Jr., Jarius Oneil, Adajia Jones, Jamya Smith, Zenobia Lewis, Tony Bass, Jayden Smith, Zakeria Williams, Wyleigh Martin and Tron Jenkins. His grandmothers Sheryl Moore & Claudia Moore, 1 great-grandmother Estelle Swayze. His aunts are Cynthia (Cassius), Clay, Lisa (Jonas), Swanson, Shanta (Frederick), Young, Tracee Smith & Shermel (John) Afalobi. & Eva Lewis His uncles Overton (Jaime) Lewis, Emmit (Doris) Moore, Author Moore, Adrian Johnson, Carmichael Day, Hollis Day and Marcus Williams; three God brothers Zhyire Thomas, Braxton Smith, Braylon Smith and one God sister Saniya Derozan. He also had a special place in his heart for his childhood best friend Courtney Smith.
Ej was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who brought joy to everyone who knew him. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved nephews De’Mani and Jakhi and his precious nieces, Ameri & Demi. His love for them was evident in the special bond they shared. At a young age, Ej accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Youngs Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jarrod Bottley. His faith remained an important part of his life. In his free time, Ej enjoyed fishing with his friends and especially his dad, they created memories that will be cherished forever.
His warm smile, smooth chocolate skin, kind heart, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though his life was brief, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
