Freddie Jones was born on January 5, 1953, in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, to the late Howard Bell and Ruth Jones. He departed this life on February 6, 2026, at Grand Trace Health Rehabilitation Center in Natchez, Mississippi.
Freddie was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years employed as a machine operator at Georgia Pacific. Through his work, he demonstrated reliability, strength, and perseverance, traits that defined his character both on and off the job.
Above all, Freddie loved his family. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and took great pride in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. Whether through conversation, laughter, or simply being present, Freddie found joy in the company of those closest to him. His love, guidance, and quiet support will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela D. Holiday Williams; and a host of siblings, other relatives, and friends.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories four grandchildren, Terrinecia Williams, Terry Williams, Diamonique Williams, and LaDamien Williams; three great-grandchildren, Avaria Williams, Ashton Williams, and Kamya Williams; his siblings, Mary J. Jones, Polly (Larry) Mealey, Katie Jones, Larry Jones, Marjorie Jones, Jerry Jones, Rose Mary Gatlin, Mary Goodrich, Valery Fountain, Patricia (Calvin) Gaines, Catherine Bell, D’Aijah Williams, Mary B. (Ulysses) Davis, Jessie Lee Bell, Reverend Charles (Michelle) Bell, Nicholas Bell, and Philip Fountain; his former wife, Rachel Johnson; one step-daughter, Kelly Brown; two step-granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Freddie will be remembered for his kind spirit, strong work ethic, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
