George Walker

George Walker Jr. was born October 16, 1957, in Woodville, Mississippi, to the late George E. and Louise Walker. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m. in Woodville, Mississippi.

George, often called Buddy, grew up in Woodville, Mississippi, where he attended Wilkinson County High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1975. He also attended Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.

On November 14, 1981, he was married to the love of his life, Brenda Lee Hull, and to this union, two sons, Rashad and Brandon, were born.

In 1984, George repented and was baptized in the lovely name of Jesus Christ and later received the gift of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Pastor Stephen Wheeler at the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.

During his lifetime, he was employed at the Nuclear Power Plant in St. Francisville, LA; Exide Corporation in Baton Rouge as a contractor; and later retired after his employment at Stupp Corporation, also in Baton Rouge, LA.

He was blessed to be able to retire and spend the remaining part of his life doing what he enjoyed most, which was spending time with his beautiful wife, son, and three precious granddaughters, Mattie, Gabby, and, don’t leave out, Kennedi.

George was a well-liked person. He loved to dress and was known for his peculiar “laugh” and the smile on his face. He also enjoyed leading church services and praising the Lord!

He leaves to cherish his memories: a very devoted son, Rashad Dontrell Walker (daughter-in-law, Arielle Rodshena Walker); three beautiful granddaughters, Madison Nicole, Gabrielle LaShae, and Kennedi Brooke Walker; two sisters, Glenda (Walter) Poole of New Orleans, LA, and Jeanetter (Billy) Spiller; one brother, Wendell (Angela) Walker, all of Woodville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

George departed this earthly life alongside his beloved wife, Brenda Walker. Together, they were called from this life on the same day, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.

He was preceded in death by both parents, George E. and Louise Walker; his son, Brandon Delvon Walker; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
