Lawrence C. Holland

“Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Lawrence C. Holland entered into eternal rest peacefully at SW Regional Medical Center on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the age of 73. He was a Woodville, MS native and a lived there most of his life. He was born on September 18, 1952 to the late Frank H. Holland and Nora W. Holland, the youngest of three sons. He grew up surrounded by an extended family, including parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins and other relatives. This multigenerational family shaped hislife.

He accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord early in life and was baptized at the St Matthews Baptist Church by the late Pastor Allen Scott. He served the Lord faithfully until ill health overcame him.

Lawrence attended Alcorn State University where he played in, and traveled with, the band. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education he followed his passion and went to work in Dallas, TX as a teacher. However, after several years he missed his family and his home and moved back to Woodville. He was there to help take care of both his father and his mother when their health declined.

The entire family depended on Lawrence to oversee the family property. He was described by all who knew him as kind, caring, devoted to family and a person of many talents.

Lawrence is survived by his brother, Turner (Sarah) Holland; a nephew, Turner Mernard Holland; a niece, Crystal Holland; two great nieces, Amaya Holland and Laila Holland; one great nephew, Jalen Friendly; two aunts, Barbara Williams and Celeste Holland; two special cousins, Seymour Wilson and Carl Miller; and a host of other cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother,Theodore Holland.
