Ruby Lee Johnson

Ruby Lee Johnson was born on June 26, 1936, to the late Monroe and Elsie Johnson in Ferriday, LA. She was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the late Ferd Green. She departed this life on September 27, 2026, at Merit Health in Vicksburg, MS.

Sis. Johnson worked for many years at the King Hotel in Ferriday. She loved and reared many children, raising them as her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles and Richard Johnson; siblings, Ella Green, Annie Clark, Daisy Tension, Dorothy Johnson, Clarissa Crocket, Monroe Johnson, Jr., and Robert Johnson; two grandsons, Eddie Lee Scott, Jr. and Thomas Martin, Jr.; and one great-grandson, Samuel Johnson III.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Harris Johnson; three daughters, Brenda Johnson, Ella Scott (Eddie), and Patricia Martin, all of Ferriday, LA; her lifelong companion, Robert Windon; 16 grandchildren; 12 nieces; five nephews; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
