Wandra Michelle Nash Mitchell

Wandra Michelle Mitchell was born on September 21, 1970, in Centreville, Mississippi, to Zelma Lee and the late Sim Dunn. She was the third of five children. At a young age, Wandra accepted Christ at Holly Grove Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Pastor J.B. Jones and continued her Christian walk throughout her life, faithfully worshiping and growing in her faith at various churches.

Wandra attended Wilkinson County High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1989. After school, she worked at several establishments, including Sanderson Farms in McComb, Jr. Food Mart, and Miss K's Home Plate in Liberty, Mississippi, where she brought a smile to every colleague and customer she met.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Buford Mitchell, and together they enjoyed six wonderful years of love, devotion, and treasured moments.

Wandra was full of life, always wearing a bright smile and sharing an even bigger laugh that could light up any room. She had a true love for decorating, shopping, and fashion, taking pride in making spaces beautiful and expressing herself through style.

Her joyful spirit and generous heart touched everyone who knew her, and she had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. Though she is no longer with us in body, we trust she now rests in eternal peace, surrounded by God’s love, and her spirit will forever live on in the lives she touched. Wandra departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 29, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved father; her paternal and maternal grandparents; five aunts and five uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memories to: her devoted husband, Buford Mitchell of Liberty, MS; her loving children Tawanna Nash of Centreville, MS and Anthony (Mary Hollins) Nash Jr. of Liberty, MS; her mother, Zelma Lee; four sisters, Martha (Joel) Norwood; Willie Mae (Gregory) Thompson; and Debra Daniels, all of Centreville, MS and Vanessa Martin of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Calvin Dunn of San Diego, CA; and Jonathan Rogers of Centreville, MS; seven grandchildren: LaTavian Lee, Lacentrick Lee, LaKevion Lee, Lakeldrick Nash, Taylor Whigham, and Tia Whigham, all of Centreville, MS and
