Willie Lee Dennis

With profound love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Willie Lee Dennis, a longtime resident of Natchez, Mississippi, who peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest.

Willie Lee Dennis was born on January 21, 1957, to the union of Mose Dennis, Jr. and Edna Mae Prater-Dennis. From an early age, Willie was grounded in faith, family, and service—values that remained the foundation of his life.

A born-again Christian, Willie faithfully served the Lord and dedicated more than ten years as a member of the Usher Ministry at Rose Hill Baptist Church before relocating to Natchez, Mississippi. His commitment to God was evident in the way he lived each day—with humility, kindness, and compassion for others.

Willie attended Wilkinson County High School and was as a member of the Class of 1975. Throughout his life, he was known as a dependable friend, a caring neighbor, and a man whose presence brought comfort and encouragement to those around him.

Willie believed deeply in treating people with dignity and respect. His personal motto was simple yet powerful: “Treat others the way you desire to be treated.” He lived those words daily through acts of kindness, generosity, and service. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing wisdom, or simply being there when someone needed him, Willie touched countless lives and left an enduring impression on everyone who knew him. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving sisters, Jacqueline (Robert) McKinsey and Sandra Dennis, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Ethel Dennis (Ronnie) of Woodville, Mississippi; and his brothers, Mose Dennis (Marilyn), Reginald Jackson, and Ricky Jackson (Sandra), all of Woodville, Mississippi, and Larry Dennis (Michelle) of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Willie shared a particularly special bond with his niece, Keyorka Dennis of Metairie, Louisiana, who lovingly stood in the role of a daughter and remained a devoted source of love and support throughout his life. He also leaves behind ten remarkable nieces: Iesha, Latkeitha, Krista, Kimberly, Latashie, Kyla, Mandy, Faith, Carrie, and Layla; three outstanding nephews: Alonzo, Lil Ricky, and Lil Mose; along with a host of beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, friends, uncles, and an aunt who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose Dennis, Jr. and Edna Mae Prater-Dennis; his sisters, Annie McMorris, Mary Francis Dennis, and Dorothy Jean Dennis; and his brothers, Johnson Dennis and Richard Dennis.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we rejoice in knowing that Willie’s faith has become sight. His legacy of love, service, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

Well done, good and faithful servant. Rest peacefully, Willie. Your race has been run, your faith has been kept, and your reward is now eternal.
